“No to the Tuna Farms” Festival will take place in Pavones this weekend (Saturday, June 12th from 9 am). There will be live music, a surf competition, fashion show, good food and chica (local drink). Don’t forget to sign the petition and donate large amounts of cash!

From the 6th till the 17th of June the Rancho is booked by the Lightning Bolt crew (there’s a good chance legendary surfers Rory Russell and Lightning Bolt’s ‘brand’ manager Jonathan Paskowitz will be coming). They will not only be enjoying the surf, hospitality and delicious food they will also be shooting footage for their next catalog. Sorry if you were planning to come over in this period because they have booked the whole place! No Tuna Farm update

Local residents have formed the Asociación No a las Granjas Atuneras (ANAGA). They are undertaking a campaign to raise awareness all over the district for the tuna farms and to eventually undertake the referendum.  Last week they
were in Caña Blanca and met with various Guaymi community members. Their next meeting will be on Feb. 24 and everyone is invited. They are also planning the NO TUNA FARM FESTIVAL again this year, same date 22 and 23 of May.
