The
Mono Titi, as they call it here, is a beautiful monkey that regularly
travels in large groups through the trees of the Rancho. Banana and
mango trees are definitely the favorites of our Titi's and sometimes
we put a banana on the roof to see which monkey has the most guts
to come and get it. |
 |
It
is singing in our garden every morning, brings its girlfriend often,
has a beautiful yellow head and both us and our guests are very impressed
with it. |
 |
There
are plenty iguanas in the Rancho garden. You will see them chase after
each other, climb trees and run over the roofs..
|
 |
When the turtle eggs hatch,
new life starts for hundreds of baby turtles with their first meters
to the sea on the beach of the Rancho. |
 |
The
cangrejo. They can dig like moles, they as plenty as ants, during
the night they make Hitchcock-like sounds when climbing walls and
if you are unlucky they will bite your toe while you sleep. |
 |
There
are a lot of snake species in Costa Rica and thus also in our garden.
In the dry season they are a little more rare, but chances are that
you will run into one somewhere. |
 |
While
snorkeling in the tide pools of the reef you will find all kinds of
tropically colored fish. |
 |
Also the sloth
takes a look around the corner now and then. |
 |
We
don't have any crocodiles on the Rancho, but, as one of our regular
Rancho dwellers can tell, you don't have to go far from the Rancho
to find them on your way. |
