Punta Banco beckons you with its lush and heavenly setting at the end of the road to the Pacific. If its seclusion, sand and sea that you want, this beachside jungle outpost is for you. Right up against a high ridge cloaked in primary and secondary rainforest with several hiking trails, and laid out right on the beach with tide pools and waves at your doorstep, this is a special place.

An indigenous reserve is only 1/2 hour away up into the mountains, and there is a year-round waterfall and stream literally a few steps away from the private individual cabins. There are wide lawns, pineapple plants, tropical flowers, tall palms and other attractive foliage among the lavish landscaping, and high observation benches on the beach.

The separate cabins are of various styles, one being a large rancho with thatched-palm roof. Most are one or two-story wooden structures, having 1 double and 1 single bed, with a total of 7 rooms in 5 cabins plus the rancho closest to the beach. All have lights, fans and electrical outlets (public electricity finally made it out here). Some have decks with ocean views. Spanish, English, French, German and Dutch is understood. Typical tico meals are available at the guest-only private restaurant.

Rancho Burica is at the end of the road just past the small village of Punta Banco about 8 kilometers south of Pavones.
